Russian Deputy PM: Putin fights corruption, but not publicly
DAVOS, Jan 23 (PRIME) -- Russian President Vladimir Putin is hard on corrupted officials, but he prefers to do it privately, First Deputy Prime Minister Igor Shuvalov said on Friday at the World Economic Forum.
“Speaking of who stole what and who did what – it is very tough in Russia now, and it is noticeable, because unlike Dmitry Medvedev, Putin does not bring it up on the agenda all the time. Medvedev liked to bring such issues up, while Putin acts more than talks,” Shuvalov said.
“He is acting rather hard on different officials who use different schemes, participate in not-so-legal operations and so on.”
Putin aims at a “longer” work in fighting corruption, and its results will be seen only in future, he added.
